Six simple tasks for stones, finds and geometry
Site-specific sound installation, on-camera performance

I sweep the ceramic floor. I lay out objects that I found in the garden on individual squares. I connect the necessary equipment (a recorder, headphones). I use the acoustic properties of the objects I have found.

I seek refuge in the sounds, in the repetition of the actions, in activities that offer a private refuge. I find refuge in a trance: placing objects next to each other, counting them, exploring their sounds. It is a kind of mantra, during which the stone loses its main properties, ceases to be a stone within my activity. I take refuge within the observation of the objects, and really and fully perceive them through the sense of hearing.

The six rooms defined by the geometry of the floor provoke the naming of potential rooms and the re-filling of the space. The ceramic floor, made up of hundreds of black, red and yellow squares and triangles, is the only remnant of the house that used to stand here. I treat the fields as a dedicated space for each individual object. I find the objects beforehand in the garden at Art Inkubator Goyki 3, and I also bring my own things to clean up the place.

I collect stones, dry branches, animate and inanimate elements, anything I can find that arouses my interest. I spread the objects out on the ceramic floor, as if in an orderly archive. I exploit the acoustic properties of the objects by tapping, scraping, rubbing them against the ceramic floor. I record the sounds.

The archive remains, some of the tiles are not filled in. Visitors to the garden can add their own elements and present their own ideas and assumptions about the space.

The drama is the result of a collaboration with a ghostwriter. The text was created after listening to my concept and the recorded sounds, and is an interpretation of an on-camera performance.

Six simple tasks for stones, finds and geometry was created for the 4th edition of the G8 collective exhibition, which promotes female artists professionally associated with the Tri-City area.
